Setting Address or Phone/Fax Inheritance between Related Profiles

When Profiles are related to one another, Atlas has the ability to allow one Profile to always inherit the address or phone and fax numbers of the other. This feature is useful to ensure that Profiles related to another (employees related to their employer, for example) all get a new main Phone Number or mailing Address if the employer changes theirs.

Follow the steps below to set up Phone and Fax Number Inheritance between Profiles:

  1. Open the Profile you want to inherit the Phone or Fax Number from another. Click on the Phone #'s tab.
  2. At the bottom of the tab, use the Default Phone/Fax Inheritance drop-down menu to select the Profile from which this Profile should inherit the Phone and Fax numbers. The list will only be populated with Profiles that have a relationship to the Profile you are viewing.
  3. Click Save. Now, any time the Phone or Fax number changes for the Related Profile, the numbers for this Profile will be updated, as well.

Follow the steps below to set up Address Inheritance between Profiles:

  1. Open the Profile you want to inherit the Address from another. Click on the Addresses tab.
  2. At the bottom of the tab, use the Default Address Inheritance drop-down menu to select the Profile from which this Profile should inherit the Address. The list will only be populated with Profiles that have a relationship to the Profile you are viewing.
  3. Click Save. Now, any time the default Address changes for the Related Profile, the Address for this Profile will be updated, as well.

Note: Once Inheritance is set, and changes made to the default Phone, Fax or Address for this profile will be overridden to preserve the inheritance of this info from the Related Profile. You must turn off Inheritance to be able to edit the default values for this profile.
